A hard-to-find matched set of seven 9-spindle bow-back Windsor chairs. The chairs sport a 19th century red paint over the original red, bold bulbous turnings and well-formed saddle seats. They are tight, in good condition and ready for everyday use, with well-worn paint and butterfly repairs underneath two seats. 18th century, New York.

Queen Anne Bonnet-Top Highboy

Queen Anne two-part bonnet-top highboy, cherry. The upper section sports a bonnet-top with a well-formed broken arch pediment having three carved flame finials, over an arrangement of nine drawers including a central fan-carved bonnet drawer. The lower section sports four drawers, including a fan-carved central drawer, and an attractively shaped apron on cabriole legs and pad feet. The highboy is in very good condition, with an old refinish, replaced brasses in the original holes and professionally spliced repairs to the proper left front and right rear legs. Circa 1760-1780, Connecticut.

Diminutive Cherry Cupboard

This attractive cupboard sports a red stain, with an applied cornice, a single paneled door over a single dovetailed drawer fitted with period hardware, canted corner columns, and a shaped bracket base. The cupboard is in good condition, with a shrinkage crack in the door and on the proper right side and the expected wear and tear from age and usage. Late 18th century, New England.

Portraits of Sea Captain and his Wife - Lamont

Pair of portraits of a sea captain and his wife, o/c, unsigned. The captain is shown holding a spyglass. His wife is holding a bouquet of flowers. Behind her are flowers in a window box and a window looking out at mountains in the background.

A brass plaque affixed to one frame attributes the portraits to George Kennedy, (1818-1870), but experts who have subsequently examined the portraits have attributed them instead to Daniel G. Lamont, (1817-1883). The portraits are in good condition with some repair. Mid-19th century.
