Naïve portrait of a woman, o/c, unsigned. The woman is pictured wearing a high-waisted black dress with puffy sleeves, a high-necked lace collar and an amber necklace. A note on the reverse side says the sitter was born in South Kingston, Rhode Island in 1795 and was 30 years old when her portrait was painted in Phoenix, RI. The artist is unknown. The painting is in very good condition, unlined and professionally conserved with very minor inpainting. Circa 1825, Rhode Island.

Adam and Eve Sampler

Embroidered Adam and Eve sampler. This is a well-done sampler with a depiction of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, along with buildings, animals, people, (including pirates), birds, peacocks, etc. The needlepoint inscription at the top margin reads, “This I did to let you see what care my parents took of me, Sophia ------ her work aged 9 years.” There is no apparent date. The sampler is in good condition, having been professionally conserved, with some staining. It is framed under museum glass in a new frame. 19th century, American.

Polychromed Cast Iron Duck Garden Sprinkler

Polychromed cast iron garden sprinkler. The sprinkler is modeled after a Mallard duck and is fitted with its original heart-shaped sprinkler head and hose connector to the tail. It retains an old polychromed surface, with oxidation, pitting and rusting to the metalwork as expected from age and usage. The sprinkler head appears to be complete but we cannot guarantee the functionality of this item. Early 20th century, American.

Painted Step-Back Cupboard

Painted step-back cupboard, pine. The cupboard sports old red paint, a large work counter and two doors below opening onto a storage area with a single shelf. (The left-hand door is probably a later modification and the shelf has been moved.) The cupboard is in good condition, ready to use, with only the expected wear and tear from age and usage. Bucks County Fractur

Bucks County ink and watercolor fractur. The fractur is decorated with a pair of birds and trees and is inscribed “LEIDY SCHOOL/HILLTOWN/Bucks County, Pennsylvania/1862”. It is framed in an attractive 19th century tiger maple frame. The fractur is in good condition, with typical fading, discoloration and toning to the paper.

Nine-Foot Cherry Farm Table

A hard-to-find nine-foot farm table, cherry and poplar. The table sports a beautiful cherry top supported by handsomely turned legs. The top has an attractive patina and is deep enough for serving pieces in addition to the usual place settings. The table is in very good condition, extremely stable and ready for everyday use. It will seat up to twelve people comfortably. The legs have been extended and the apron has been scrolled for more comfortable seating. Circa 1830-1840, New York or New England.
