Two-gallon stoneware jug, W. Roberts. The jug sports an unusually large stylized bird perched on a branch and the stamp, “W. Roberts/Binghamton”. This is the mark of William Roberts, son-in-law of Noah White of Whites Utica Pottery. He founded a branch of the family business in Binghamton in 1848 and ran it until 1888. The jug is in very good condition, with no apparent damage or repairs.
