Portraits of Sea Captain and his Wife - Lamont
Pair of portraits of a sea captain and his wife, o/c, unsigned. The captain is shown holding a spyglass. His wife is holding a bouquet of flowers. Behind her are flowers in a window box and a window looking out at mountains in the background.
A brass plaque affixed to one frame attributes the portraits to George Kennedy, (1818-1870), but experts who have subsequently examined the portraits have attributed them instead to Daniel G. Lamont, (1817-1883). The portraits are in good condition with some repair. Mid-19th century.

Paint Decorated Chest of Drawers
Paint decorated chest of drawers. The chest sports four drawers, attractively turned legs, a nicely scrolled apron, and the original paint decoration. It is in very good condition, with one drawer lip repair and minor paint wear from age and usage. The brasses are old replacements. Circa 1830, New England.

Hanging Candle Box
Hanging candle box. The box sports a lollipop top, an old dark finish and dovetailed construction. It is in good condition for its age, with a repair to the lollipop, an age crack in the sliding cover and the wear and tear expected from age and usage. Late 18th or early 19th century, American.

Federal Cherry Corner Cupboard
Federal two-part cherry corner cupboard. The upper section has a glazed door opening onto a blue painted interior. The lower section has two paneled doors and rests on a scrolled base. The cupboard has a nice, warm color and is in very good condition. The side waist moldings may be replacements. Circa 1800, probably New England.

Reproduction Colonial Chandelier
Reproduction colonial style two-tier tin chandelier, copper. The chandelier has 14 arms, is not electrified, and is in very good condition. It was made by Jerry Martin, a Pennsylvania blacksmith, and hung in our living room for many years. 20th century.

Queen Anne Drop-Leaf table
Queen Anne drop-leaf table, maple. The table sports a top and leaves with beautiful patina, carved aprons on both ends, and cabriole legs ending in pad feet. It is in fair-to-good condition, with an old iron repair at the top of one swing leg, and damage to one edge of each drop leaf. Circa 1750-1780, New England.

Naive Portrait of Two Children
Naïve portrait of a boy and girl. The children are dressed in brightly colored clothing. The boy is holding a whip and the girl is holding a doll in one hand and the doll’s bonnet in the other. The portrait is very attractively framed and is in very good condition, marred only by some spotting near the boy’s hat. Mid-19th century, American School.
