Stoneware Crock - Crolius
One-gallon stoneware crock, 9" high, with open handles, undecorated.
This crock is unmarked, but is attributed to Clarkson Crolius, New York City, because of the signature open handle design. Also, small chips around the base and the lip expose a pinkish clay that is commonly found on the banks of New York City and Northern New Jersey. The crock is in very good condition, the only defect of note being a small rim chip. Circa 1790-1820.
