Gray/Blue Wall Cupboard

Painted wall cupboard. The cupboard sports original gray/blue paint, and a molded top over two paneled doors that open onto a clean interior with two shelves. The doors are fitted with the original iron lock and escutcheon. The absence of a center stile allows for the cupboard to be used as an entertainment center, if desired. The cupboard is in very good condition, with minor damage to the bottom rear of the proper left side. Late 18th century, American or possibly Canadian.

Large Hooked Rug w/Dog

Large hooked rug with dog. The rug pictures a dog in a red harness on a striped background surrounded by leaves. It is in very good condition, with only a small area of an old repair visible under the dog. The rug is lined across the top with a Velcro strip for hanging using the included wall bracket. This is an exceptional rug and an example of the best of the art of making hooked rugs. A rug in the same pattern is illustrated in William Winthrop Kent, “Rare Hooked Rugs”, Springfield: Pond-Ekberg, 1941, plate 156. Late 19th century, American.
