Painted lift-top blanket chest. The chest is a nice size and sports original untouched red paint and high, half-moon cutouts on the sides. It is constructed with square nails and with large dovetails on the drawer. The original snipe hinges have been replaced. The chest is a survivor, in relatively good condition for its age and usage. 18th century, New England.
