Stoneware Crock - Roberts

THIS ITEM HAS BEEN SOLD

4 gallon stoneware crock, with a cobalt blue bird on a branch, "W. Roberts, Binghampton, NY", second half of the 19th century. William Roberts went into partnership with his father-in-law, Noah White of Utica, starting in 1848 and lasting until 1888.

This crock is in excellent condition, except for a couple of spiders in the glaze, and some minor stains and kiln burns.
