Paint Decorated Blanket/Dower Chest

Chippendale painted blanket/dower chest.

The chest is in very good condition, retaining its original yellow paint with smoke decoration and black trim. It is constructed with single boards on all four sides, as well as on the back and the bottom. There are two side-by-side drawers at the base. Circa 1800-1820.

There is a shrinkage crack in the lid, and the chest exhibits some minor scrapes and dings expected from its age and usage.
