An amusing folk art whirligig, constructed of wood and sheet iron.
When the propeller spins, the man tips his top hat. Both the man and his hat are made of sheet iron. The rest of the whirligig is constructed of wood. The top hat, the tail and the propellers are all paint decorated in red and mustard paint. The whirligig is in good working condition, and displays only the degree of paint wear expected from age and usage. An unusual and highly desirable piece of folk art, it dates from the late 19th or early 20th century.
