Excellent folk art watercolor on paper, “An Indian Queen”. The watercolor shows the Queen clothed in ceremonial garb augmented with a feather headdress and metal armbands and wristbands. She is holding a large bow and arrow, with a quiver of arrows slung across her back. Stylized pine trees appear in the background. “An Indian Queen” is written in script near the bottom. The watercolor is in its original oval frame and is in very good condition. Probably after an early engraving. Circa 1810-1820, possibly Southern U.S.
