A life size flattened cigar store Indian trade sign. The sign is painted on both sides. The Indian is wearing a green tunic adorned with yellow fringes, belt, collar and cuffs. He is also wearing leggings with yellow cuffs, moccasins and a feather headdress. The Indian is holding a pipe in one hand and a sheaf of tobacco in the other. Tucked into his belt are a tomahawk and a knife. A purse also hangs from his belt. The reverse side is similar, except that the Indian is also wearing an earring. The sign is in very good condition, except for an old repair to one shoulder and some paint wear on the reverse side. The metal stand is new. Circa 1860-1870.
