Early cant-back open-top cupboard.
The cupboard is constructed of cherry, including even the backboards. The open top has a molded edge and three shelves with plate grooves. Below is a figured cherry counter above a single door opening onto two interior shelves. The attractive cornice is original, as are the hand-forged butt hinges and hand-made screws. The bracket base is old, but not original. Early 19th century, New England. Provenance: ex. Archibald estate, Powder Point, Duxbury, MA.
