Antique sailing ship weathervane, wood and tin. The ship is a wooden Spanish galleon with two tin sails, wire rigging and a wooden lantern protruding from the stern. The sails retain traces of old white paint and one sail sports a painted Maltese cross. The weathervane has an old surface and is in very good condition. It appears to have been home-made and was originally found in an old barn on the New Jersey shore, along with its base and directionals. (The “S” is missing.) From a Lyme, NH collection. Probably early 20th century.
